August 26th, 2008: Coast Elite wishes to congratulate our gymnast, Kyra Platt, who has given a verbal commitment to NC State University, a division one school!!!

Seventeen year-old Kyra Platt has been training at Coast Elite Gymnastics Academy for over ten years. Her coaches, Dave Zwiefelhofer, Kelsey Curran, and Christopher Gewinner are pleased and proud that she has received such an honor.

However, such a great accomplishment comes as no surprise. Kyra has performed spectacularly throughout her years at Coast Elite, and has earned many Statewide, Regional, and National titles. Kyra was the first International Elite gymnast from Southwest Florida and competed in the Visa Cup in 2005. She has been a National Champion in both the USA Gymnastics and AAU Leagues, and was a member of the 2005 USAG Junior Olympic Team. She is the 2008 USAG Regional Champion on both vault and balance beam.

Kyra will graduate from Cypress Lake High School in Spring of 2009. She is thrilled to have been offered a full gymnastics scholarship to North Carolina State University. She will attend NC State in Fall of 2009 and plans to major in graphic design.
